Corporate Olympics 2023
CrossFit Competition Event
Instruction/Introduction:
For this event, two people per team are required to participate. Weights, movements, and scoring have been adjusted to accommodate differences in gender. This means that all teams will compete in the same division and will not be discriminated based on all male, all female, and co-ed teams; nor will age be taken into consideration for this year’s event. All teams will start at Workout 1 and complete each workout in order as written. Teams will be placed in their starting orders at random and before the event day. All rules, prohibitions, policies, scoring details and explanations concerning the event and the workouts involved will be listed below within their respective workouts. A minimum time of 20 minutes will be given between workouts to give teams time to recover and prepare for the next workout.
Workout 1: Strength
Deadlift Ladder
For Max Weight:
In this segment, competitors will test their strength as they seek to find the heaviest weight they can deadlift with a barbell for one (1) rep. They are given three (3) attempts to correctly lift each weight. As they successfully complete each lift, they will be permitted to increase the weight of their bar to the next testing weight. They are NOT allowed to skip weight increase increments. Weight will increase by increments of 10lbs (5lb on each side of the bar) until the competitor either gives up on the lift, or a weight is unsuccessfully completed within the three (3) attempts. All competitors hold the right to opt out of increasing their weight after completing a successful lift. Their last successful lift will be considered their final scoring weight.
The overhand, underhand, mixed grip (alternating grip), and hook grips are all permitted. Wrist wraps and all forms of hand drying/sticky agents used for gripping in the hand that are not provided by the facility on the day of competition will not be permitted (chalk will be provided). Traditional leather, Velcro, and other lifting belts designed to provide pressure to the abdomen will be permitted. Any other belt not described in this fashion will be reviewed by the event coordinator on the day of the event.
Men and women will begin at different weight increments as listed below:
Men’s starting weight – 285lb
Women’s starting weight – 185lb
Scoring Metrics
To standardize the scoring system, every successful lift will count as one (1) point for the team. Placement for standings will look at total points collected between the two (2) teammates and combine them for a final score. The team with the highest score will claim first place and will be awarded the highest number of points for this event with every team after claiming a lower number of points for the event associated with their placement within the standings for this workout. Score values will be determined based on how many teams register for the event.
Workout 2: Endurance

In this segment, competitors will seek to finish the workout as quickly as they can to achieve the lowest finish time possible. Competitors must start with the first listed exercise (pull-ups) and complete all reps of each exercise in the order written before moving to the next exercise. All movement standards will be explained prior to the beginning of the workout, however the standards for each movement will follow traditional standards.

Scoring Metrics
For Angie, scoring metrics are based on finish times. Placement for standings will look at the average finish time between the two teammates and use that to represent the team’s final score (listed in seconds). The team with the lowest score will claim first place and will be awarded the highest number of points for this event with every team after claiming a lower number of points for this event associated with their placement within the standings for this workout. Score values will be determined based on how many teams register for the event.
Workout 3: Team Tactical
The Champion’s Chipper
For Lowest Score:
In this segment, competitors will be tested on their endurance and ability to communicate and work together as a team. Both teammates will be required to complete this workout. Teammate one (1) will start at Station A and complete the first round of the prescribed two (2) exercises. Meanwhile, teammate two (2) will be at Station B completing as many meters as possible on the rower. Once teammate one (1) finishes the first round, he/she will switch with teammate two (2) and the same work will be completed. Once both teammates have finished the first round on Station A they will move into round two (2) and round (3) in the same fashion. DO NOT RESET METERS COMPLETED ON THE ROWER FOR THE DURATION OF THE WORKOUT AS THEY ARE NECESSARY FOR CALCULATING THE TEAM’S FINAL SCORE. ANY MACHINE RESET DURING THE WORKOUT WILL BE CONSIDERED TECHNICAL DISQUALIFICATION. A RETEST MAY BE PERMITTED IF APPROVED BY THE EVENT COORDINATOR.

Scoring Metrics
Placement for standings within this workout will be dependent on two factors, (a) what was the total time for completing the workout (listed in seconds) and (b) how many total meters were completed on the rower for the team. Final score will be calculated by taking the finish time in seconds and subtracting one (1) second for every 10 meters rowed (ex. for rowing 2000m you would subtract 200 seconds from the finish time). The team with the lowest final score will claim first place and will be awarded the highest number of points for this event with every team after claiming a lower number of points for this event associated with their placement within the standings for this workout. Score values will be determined based on how many teams register for the event.
Determining Event Placement
Points earned from placement during each workout will be added together in determining where a team falls in their standings in the event. The team with the highest total points will receive first place in the event and will receive the highest points going towards their team’s score within the Corporate Olympics (no points earned within the workouts will go towards this score) with every team after claiming a lower number of points towards their team’s score within the Corporate Olympics. Total points earned will be determined by the Corporate Olympics and will be determined closer to day of the event.
